Our remaining grey seals from the autumn / winter season were released back into the wild on the 9th of May so there are currently no seals in the sanctuary. We expect to rescue our next seals during the common seal pupping season in June / July.
A big thank you to everyone who supported our seal adoption program in 2012.
You can play a part in the rehabilitation of these amazing animals by adopting a rescued seal pup.

How much does it cost?
A share in a seal pup costs just £20. A share can be purchased by an individual or by a group, such as a school class. Your sponsorship lasts as long as the seal pup remains at Exploris (usually 2-3 months).
There is also a corporate adoption scheme, through which a company can be the sole sponsor of a seal pup. As well as the normal adoption pack, companies are entitled to choose a name for the seal and to display their logo at the seal pens. For corporate adoption rates, please contact Exploris.
What do you get?
- A photograph of the seal you are adopting.
- An adoption certificate.
- Three updates on the progress of your seal – one on its rescue, one during its rehabilitation and one after it has been released back into the wild.
- 10% discount in the shop.
- One free admission to Exploris.
How do you adopt a seal?
If you would like to adopt a rescued seal please write, phone or email Exploris for an adoption form.
All our rescued seal pups are returned to the wild. This means that at certain times of the year there are no seals in the hospital available for adoption.
PLEASE ALLOW 28 DAYS FOR DELIVERY OF YOUR ADOPTION PACK.
